November 2009

Thank you again for the commitment you have made to our preschool program during these very tough times.  We take our commitment to you and your children very seriously and want to continue to give you the best program that we can.  Both our Wayne and Ypsilanti preschools are full, as well as our Wayne Parent’s Day Out!  Praise God for bringing all of our preschoolers to us!  We are hoping to be able to add more classes next Fall.  We don’t want to turn anyone away, as we had to do this year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

No school on November 26-27.  There will also be no Parent’s Day Out program on Friday (no extra charges either!)  Remember Who we give thanks to!  A fun craft for you and your child is to make “Thank-mats” to use as placemats.  Cut out or draw a tree on the edge of a paper.  Make leaves falling from the tree, leaving room on each leaf to write or draw something that your child is thankful for!  (adapted from Family Fun)

Ideas to help your preschooler:

Practice at home!  Practice writing your child’s name (lower case letters), holding a crayon properly, tracing letters, identifying shapes and colors and letters.  Bring us any papers your child does for “homework” and we have a special sticker just for him/her!  Number or letter magnets are a lot of fun for kids, too.  It’s a great activity for parents and children to do together!  You can also have bathtub fun:  use shaving cream to write letters and numbers on the wall!  Clean your tub and learn at the same time!

We are updating our website, so check us out soon!  We have lots of information for our current students as well as information for anyone interested in our program!  www.noahsarkcp.com

CHRISTMAS is coming!

Party time!  Our party will be on Wednesday, December 16 for both two day and three-day programs (We will still have preschool and Parent’s Day Out on 12/18).  We will post a snack sign-up sheet by December 1 for any parents who can help bring snacks for our party!   You can still bring a snack for our party even if you don’t sign up, but it’s helpful for us to have an idea of what we have or still need for our party.  We will have a Book Exchange at our party!  Each book should cost about $1 (The Dollar Store is a great place to find books and coloring books!).  Please don’t add anything to your gift—no candy, crayons, or extra goodies because it is hard for other children who “only” get a book and want extra presents like their friends.  Please wrap the book, but do NOT address the gift tag.  DO write your child’s name on the gift tag.  For example:  “Merry Christmas, from Dylan”.  We put all the gifts in a pile and let each child pick one during the party.  You may bring in your gift early if you’d like and we can hold onto it until our party.  We would also LOVE to have some parents help during our party!  Due to licensing, we cannot have siblings attend, though (We can only allow a certain number of children in the classroom.  While parents can sometimes bring siblings into elementary programs, preschool licensing has much stricter policies on this).  The children really enjoy the party and are excited about having a special day, so be prepared to help us that day!  Thanks!

Christmas Break Schedule:  No school 12/21-12/31.  Preschool resumes on January 4, 2010.

Contract Reminders:  The program is broken up into 36 payments.  We have 2 weeks off during Christmas break.  You are responsible to pay for 1 week.  That payment is due before 12/18 at 2:00.  We will accept a postdated check for 12/22.  Please write “postdated” on the outside of your payment envelope in order to insure it gets accounted for correctly.  This does not affect or apply to any monthly payments.  Parent’s Day Out will not need to pay for Friday, since there will be no session that week.  Next payment will be due on 1/4/2010.  Late payments will be charged a $10 fee (this should not be a surprise since it was in your financial agreements signed at the beginning of the year.  It is also listed in our brochure).  Remember that you are making 36 payments, rather than 34 weeks of class (that is why it is a strange amount).

Enrollment!  We will begin enrolling in February for our next year’s program (Fall of 2010)!  Start planning—we love to see familiar faces; spread the word—we also love to see new faces!

God Bless you!
